Disclaimer
Effective May 18, 2026 — Important limitations on the use of ballistic calculations and site content.
This Disclaimer governs your use of BallisticScienceLab.com (the "Service") operated by Ballistic Science Lab. By accessing or using the Service, you accept this Disclaimer in full.
Ballistic Calculations Are Estimates Only
All ballistic trajectory calculations, velocity data, energy figures, maximum point blank range (MPBR) outputs, and related results provided by this Service are mathematical estimates based on standard ballistic models (G1 and G7 drag functions). They are intended for general educational and informational purposes only.
Real-world ballistic performance is influenced by a large number of variables that this tool cannot account for, including but not limited to:
- Environmental conditions: wind speed and direction, temperature, altitude, barometric pressure, and humidity.
- Equipment variation: barrel length, rifling twist rate, barrel condition, scope mount quality, and optics calibration.
- Ammunition variation: lot-to-lot differences in powder charge, projectile weight, and muzzle velocity.
- Shooter technique: trigger control, position, and other human factors.
Do Not Rely on This Tool for Shot Safety Decisions
You must not rely solely on the outputs of this tool for any decision relating to safe firearm use, including but not limited to: shot placement, maximum effective range, hunting kill zones, or barrier penetration.
Always verify any calculation against real-world data obtained through safe, live-fire testing at an appropriate shooting range. Never fire at a target unless you are certain of a safe and ethical shot, the target and what is beyond it, and compliance with all applicable laws and safety rules.
Accuracy of Cartridge Data
Ballistic coefficient (BC), muzzle velocity, and other specifications in our cartridge database are sourced from publicly available manufacturer data and community contributions. We make no warranty that this data is current, accurate, or identical to performance you will observe from your specific firearm and ammunition.
